TUSKEGEE AIRMEN: How many Tuskegee airmen were there?
Among the pilots in the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces, there were a total of 932 pilots who graduated from the program. Among these, 355 served in active duty during World War Two as fighter pilots. Sixty-six Tuskegee Airmen died in combat. Overall, The Tuskegee Airmen destroyed 251 enemy airplanes and were awarded a total of 150 Distinguished Flying Crosses for their service.
Activity: These are all men and women who worked hard and fought to make this world a better and safer place. Today we can repay their acts of kindness, love, and dedication by "paying it forward". Your assignment for this week: Go above and beyond at least one time every day for someone. You may write a note to a teacher or another student who may be struggling. Offer to help do extra chores around the house. Show kindness to others. Let's try our best to make the world a better place!
