FOR PARENTS

All ENCORE Academy events welcome additional helping hands before and during performances.

PARENT VOLUNTEER HOURS

• Parent support is very gratefully received during LAMDA exam periods, drama showcase time, and our annual dance recital weekend. 

• Throughout the year, the ENCORE team will directly contact academy parents, as well as the PTA, to invite support for these special events.

• Thank you in advance for your generosity in helping make academy performances magical and memorable for everyone onstage and off.

FOR STUDENTS

ENCORE Academy classes have Teacher Assistants and Class Presidents.

TEACHER ASSISTANTS

• Older students in Middle and Secondary can earn meaningful service hours (including CAS for IB students) as a Teacher Assistant for a weekly class of any group younger than they are. 

• Teacher Assistants are needed for younger dance classes and drama groups (some experience preferred), as well as LAMDA Exam classes where the Teacher Assistant has previously taken an exam in the area being taught.

• Teacher Assistants are not enrolled in the weekly class nor do they pay a fee. The minimum time commitment is one full term.

CLASS PRESIDENTS

• Students enrolled in any academy class (dance, drama, LAMDA) can gain age-appropriate leadership experience by supporting their teacher and peers as a Class President.

• Younger Class Presidents help prepare and tidy the teaching space, and other small tasks. Older Class Presidents might set up a students-only WhatsApp group for the class to communicate with each other about homework. All Class Presidents serve as a role model to their peers.

• Students can volunteer to be Class President or be selected by their teacher. The position is rotated regularly throughout the school year.

💜 REMINDER for older LAMDA students and the Duke of Edinburgh Award

LAMDA students can use their LAMDA lessons and exam prep time for the skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Check with your DofE Leader before starting to ensure it meets the requirements for your chosen level.
