How to Use Service Auto Pilot
Parking The Truck Putting the Flag in the Lawn
Park the truck where you can reach the furthest part of the back lawn with the hose. The X is where you would want to park the truck. Go the the furthest part and work your way back. in these examples I know where the gates are so thats why I choose to park here.
Put the Flag in the Lawn to notify them we have been to the property. (ideally put on the edge of the driveway so they can see it when they come home.
Starting the Job in SA Checking All Notes
Make sure to watch the video above which explains more about the app. It's important to start the job when you get out of the truck or after the flag is in, This tracks our time for budgeting and scheduling in the future. It also tells us exactly when we have been there (it's the law).
Double check all notes and tech notes for the job. These are very important! Missing a note could cost us the client if we don't pay attention to the details and requests.
Adding Comments Taking Pictures
Comments are notes that you have all while you were at the job that will be sent to the office. These are really important to us. The more details that you put in the better. There are three-four main categories that we expect to have a comment about for each job.
#1 - Specifics about what you did.
#2- A quick report about the quality of the lawn color and the quality of the week control
#3 - Anything you noticed that didn't seem right or could be better about the job (dead spots in front, broken sprinkler head, Compact soil, etc)
#4 - If you did have a conversation with the homeowner, any special requests
Here is a quick example of a comment (you can use voice to text).
"Today the lawn looked really good. It was green and thick. There were just a few patchy spots in the back by the shed. I only saw a couple weeds down by the sidewalk. I applied some fertilizer in those patchy spots, and hit the weeds on the property. Spoke to the homeowner. They said they were having a party in four weeks and they wanted to look great. Maybe we can come back in three weeks to do the next visit?"
Taking pictures is one of the most important steps for the office. If someone calls and they're concerned about something, we always have the pictures to verify it. It also helps us review and see the quality of the lawn. If there's anything we need to go out and take care of extra.
We expect pictures in the following circumstances.
#1 - Every job needs to have a picture every application in the same spot. Ideally, it's standing in the driveway within a few feet of where you place the flag. Turn the camera sideways to take the picture. Our goal is to get the pictures from the same spot as best we can each time. That way we can track the progress month to month.
#2 - If you see anything that doesn't look right or normal, please take a picture. This could include an area that is thinning out, Brown patch, yellowing patches. New weeds that you have never seen, etc. Our goal in this is to catch things while we're there so we can correct them.
Remember, you are the eyes and ears for our clients. The office the managers we are not there regularly so we expect you to be aware of what's going on and to pay attention to your surroundings.
