At EcoHope, we tackle environmental challenges through innovative, youth-led projects that empower communities and build a sustainable future. Here’s what we’re working on:
"Empowering youth to lead the fight for a sustainable future."
The Green Generation Project focuses on equipping young people with the knowledge, skills, and tools to become climate leaders in their communities. By integrating environmental education into schools and community programs, we inspire the next generation to take action against climate change.
In 2024, the project expanded to 6 schools, reaching over 200 children and young people, teaching them about waste management, recycling, and the importance of environmental stewardship. Green Generation aims to create a ripple effect, where young leaders drive sustainable initiatives in their schools, neighborhoods, and beyond.
Key Impact Areas:
Environmental education programs in schools.
Training sessions on waste management and recycling.
Leadership development for young climate advocates.
Transforming agriculture to secure a sustainable tomorrow.
The Planting Prosperity Project works with farmers and vulnerable communities to promote sustainable agricultural practices, including the integration of agroforestry techniques. By combining agriculture with the cultivation of trees and shrubs, this initiative not only increases food security but also enhances soil health, reduces erosion, and sequesters carbon.
Launched in 2024, the project now supports over 40 participants in Manica Province, helping them cultivate more than 5 hectares of land using sustainable methods. Agroforestry practices have become a cornerstone of the project, fostering a harmonious balance between agricultural productivity and environmental restoration.
Key Impact Areas:
Training farmers in eco-friendly agricultural and agroforestry techniques.
Enhancing food security through sustainable farming practices.
Rehabilitating degraded land and improving soil health with agroforestry.
Supporting vulnerable communities in building resilience against climate challenges.
