S-A-S 2024

Welcome to the webpage for the 2024 cohort of Scientist at Sea Students! This program allows us to participate in undergraduate research in the marine sciences for free! Our research projects aim to tackle current environmental issues throughout the Gulf of Mexico from geology, chemistry, and biology perspectives.

 Our research is led by peer mentors and professors from Eckerd College and is hosted by the Florida Institute of Oceanography.  Our research cruises will take place on the R/V Weatherbird II and will span over the course of a week.
