The day started with a very cool morning as the Leg 1 group began their cruise. The RV Weatherbird II was loaded, left the doc, and proceded to its first site for multicore sampling. The multicore was set up close to the stern, ready to be cast off the stern later that afternoon. After multiple sets of sampling in the afternoon, multicore tubes were placed on the rack in preparation for evening sampling at another site after dinner.
