Volunteer Service and Programs

1. Annual Fall and Spring Barbecue, to assist our students with fees. Prepared tickets, flyers, and cooked food for the fundraisers.

2. Mentoring students on both lunch shifts.

3. Assist Educated Young Males Against Drugs and Violence and ROTC, with after school homework center to assist our students with math, science, English and social studies homework.

4. Incoming Freshmen Transitional Day, to help them adjust to the academic demands and social pressure of high school.

5. Annual Angola Prison Rodeo, for young men with out fathers in the home.

6. Annual Father/Daughter Valentine Banquet. Security Dads invite young ladies to the banquet without fathers in the home. We hope to expose young ladies to an appropriate male behavior in the formal social setting.

7. Family Day in the Stadium, so families in the community can get acquainted with each other and our school staff and community leaders.

8. Help our community leaders with back-to-school rallies. Help give out school supplies to our community students.

9. Help our PTO buy and prepare snacks for parents at our school's Open House.

10. Prepare food and chaperon at the Junior'Senior Lock-In, awareness program concerning drugs, and alcohol abuse during Prom Week.

11. Workshop on Volunteer Involvement and establishment of more parenting programs.

12. Help host annual East Baton Rouge Youth Summit. Discussed teen problems and concerns.

13. Organized Motivational Day for students before fall final testing.

14. Help organize Junior Takeover Day after seniors are gone.

15. Help organize students' Spring and Fall Award Banquet.

16. Help organize and participate in Community and School Clean-Up-Day.

17. Help organize and prepare food for Community Resource Fair with school's PTO.

18. Help with Beta Club's National Induction Ceremony Award Day.

19. Gear-Up Explorers Club "Present College Knowledge Night." Help organize and prepare food for the presenters and students.

20. Help East Baton Rouge Sheriff Department with End of Summer Fest.

21. Helped I-CARE organize "Whats Up With Violence Prevention" Workshop, for ninth grade class.

22. Assist Beta Club prepare food baskets for needy families, for Christmas and Thanksgiving.

23. Help ROTC and Educated Young Males pass out fruit bags and toys to elem. school students at their Christmas Program.

24. Escorted Educated Young Males Against Drugs and Violence to tailgate for our boys sake rally.

25. Help organize and prepare food for Meet and Greet Event, so parents and community could meet the principal and staff.
