The innovative four-year, Medical Program is for students who demonstrate a special interest in medical and healthcare careers. This comprehensive program has been designed to effectively combine academic skills, theoretical training and practical experience in the medical and healthcare fields. Students graduating from this program have the opportunity to obtain industry based certifications in patient care. Glen Oaks Medical Magnet has partnered with Baton Rouge General to provide students with job-shadowing, mentorship, and internship opportunities.
Applicants must perform on a level of Basic or above on LEAP 2025 or the equivalent on a norm referenced assessment in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics
Applicants must have an overall 2.5 grade point average (GPA) for the last four (4) consecutive semesters [last two years]
In an intensive effort to build capacity and meaningful community relationships, we have established partnerships with Baton Rouge General Healthcare Systems, Baton Rouge Community College’s Division of Nursing & Allied Health, and Southern University’s School of Nursing.
