My challenge to all of my students is so explore as many different places and adventures as possible through the pages of books.
My challenge to all of my students is so explore as many different places and adventures as possible through the pages of books.
During certain points of the day, or when a student finishes their work early I challenge them to be reading a book. I want these books to be ones they find interesting! They can be books about a mischievous dog who always finds himself in trouble, or about a women who saves a space mission to the moon by solving really challenging math problems!

To me reading happens in so many different ways and I want to help your student explore and find the type of reading that is most interesting to them! This can be a graphic novel, a fiction or nonfiction chapter book, it could be a book that is listed above or below their grade level, it could also be an audiobook. Almost every night I fall asleep listening to one of the Harry Potter books, and usually have one on in the background when I am working.

If your student is having a hard time finding a book that interests them I would be happy to help them explore some options! I have about 900 books that were donated by family, friends, fellow teachers and members of our amazing community. Students are welcome to check these out of our classroom library or bring in their own books to enjoy.

I have included a link to the East Bridgewater Public Library here. Located right next to Skinner's Sugar House this is a great place to stop and get a new book to read while you eat your ice cream! I have countless found memories visiting this EB landmark! The librarians are so kind and will help you find any book! The kids' section is located on the lower level and is filled with books for every reader! Also ask at the desk about Hoopla or Libby access. This is a great free resource to access the digital library FREE if you have a library card! Great for audio books you can access from any smart phone or computer.
