Team aire, wharfe & ouse (Year 1 & year 2)

Good afternoon,

This week the children have written their own version of The Three Little Pigs changing the main characters and the villain. They have worked incredibly hard this week to produce wonderful pieces of writing. We are really proud with how the children have written, edited and published their independent writes.

Changing books:

To support with reading in school we are changing the day we are sending new books home. Please can book bags and reading records be sent to school on THURSDAYS. 

REMINDERS:

For Autumn 2, our PE days will be Monday and FRIDAY. KS1 are very lucky after the half term break to be having one of their lessons with the Beyond the Physical coaches that come into school on a Friday. 

In Maths, Year 1 have started a new topic of shapes looking at the names, number of sides and vertices of 2D shapes. 

In Year 2 , we are starting a new topic of multiplication as repeated addition then moving onto multiples of 2,5 and 10. 

In Writing, we are going to be creating our own version of The Three Little Pigs story with new characters. 

HOMEWORK:

Your children will bring home their reading books on Thursday. We ask that you read with your child 3x a week and write in their reading records each time you read.

The children who have read 3x, will be giving a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a prize.

We know reading is essential for your child/ren and we thank your support with this.
