Good afternoon,
As we come to the end of another wonderful term, we are so proud of all the children and the incredible progress they have made. They have worked so hard and continue to impress us every day!
Next term, we will begin preparing the children for their exciting transition into Year 1, helping them to build independence and confidence ready for the next stage of their learning journey. We will continue with Phase 4 phonics and we will be really encouraging the children to apply their phonics knowledge in their reading and writing. We will also be focusing on automaticity - trying to get the children to read words automatically without having to sound them out.
This week, the children have truly wowed us with their creativity and fantastic art skills during Learn Through Week. We’ve had artwork inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s Pumpkins, Van Gogh's Sunflowers and Henri Matisse’ Snail! It has been lovely to see their imaginations shine through their work.
In Maths, we have been revisiting 2D shapes and discussing their properties, using lots of practical activities to support learning. We learnt about hexagons and we linked this to our World Bee Day learning.
Thank you so much for all of your continued support with reading and home learning. It really does make a huge difference and helps to reinforce the learning taking place in school.
Have a wonderful break!
