Good afternoon,
How are we at the end of the Christmas term already? We really hope you enjoyed the KS2 Christmas performances if you were able to make it to them. The children did an absolutely fantastic job on all the performances and we are so proud of them! In English, we had a red nosed visitor! Of course, it was Rudolph! The children were so helpful to Rudolph by writing a letter to Santa about inclusion and discrimination in the workplace! The letters are so convincing and we are certain Santa will be able to clear all of poor Rudolph’s problems. In Maths, the children enjoyed exploring using different scales to measure mass and different containers to measure capacity. We also had a lovely time making Christmas cards and crafts which is always a lovely end to the term! Merry Christmas!
After christmas:
Creative Curriculum: We are beginning the new term with a DT day making an electrical board game. If you have any cardboard left over from christmas, this would be really beneficial to us for the project.
Maths: The children will be exploring measurement in mass to and above 1 kilogram and in volume to and above 1l.
English: The children will be exploring determiners and correctly inputting these in sentences. Then they will sort and identify a range of conjunctions to strengthen their sentence structure knowledge.
PSHE: We will be thinking about our hopes, dreams and goals.
Homework:
It’s incredible to think that we are already at the Christmas holiday. The children have worked their socks off and thoroughly deserve a wonderful break! We are very proud of each and every one of them.
During the Christmas period, we would like you to keep up the hard work by completing the following tasks:
Spend time with your family.
Watch a Christmas film.
Drink hot chocolate.
Go for a long walk with your family.
Play a boardgame.
Have a duvet and PJ day.
Dance to Christmas music.
Relax and recharge your batteries.
Write letters to say thank you to people who have bought you presents.
We hope you all have a fantastic break and we’ll see you on Monday 5th January.
Have a lovely Christmas!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
