Good afternoon,
WOW what an amazing final week we have had of 2025! The children have made us proud with the Christmas performance they have done. We want to take the opportunity to thank you as parents/carers for all your support this term! We hope you have a lovely Christmas!
Changing books:
To support with reading in school we are changing the day we are sending new books home. Please can book bags and reading records be sent to school on THURSDAYS.
We have collected reading books in and new ones will be given out after Christmas.
REMINDERS:
For Spring 1, our PE days will be Monday and Friday.
In Maths, Year 1 will be beginning our new topic of addition.
In Year 2 ,
In Writing, KS1 are beginning a new topic of character descriptions ensuring that children are writing sentences with capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We are challenging them to include adjectives to describe a character.
HOMEWORK:
Your children will bring home their reading books on Thursday. We ask that you read with your child 3x a week and write in their reading records each time you read.
The children who have read 3x, will be giving a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a prize.
We know reading is essential for your child/ren and we thank your support with this.
Below is a list of KS1 common exceptions words. These are a list of words that the children need to be able to read and write - although this isn't homework as such, it may be useful to practice these at home.
Any questions, please come and ask us.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy this time with your families and we will see you in 2026!
