Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

Team Calder have had another great week and have really enjoyed their art sessions on exploring texture, tone and shape using the Brazilian artist Vik Muniz as their inspiration.

Maths and spelling homework has been set this week. Please let me know if you need homework printing.

Team Calder will have their Sport's Day activities on Thursday morning

Friday is a teacher training day

English: We will be starting our independent writing on a volcano disaster narrative.

Maths: We will be continuing our learning on fractions.

PSHE: We will be thinking about how belonging to an online community can have positive and negative consequences.

Curriculum: We will be continuing our new topic on ‘When is Mother Earth not kind’ and we will be looking where earthquakes and tsunamis happen.

P.E is now every Monday and Thursday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).  

If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
