Team aire, wharfe & ouse (Year 1 & year 2)

Good afternoon, 

Next week the children have transition time with their new teachers on Monday and Tuesday. The remainder of the week we will be starting our new writing unit looking at diary entries and we will be exploring what it is like to live on the Space Station. We will also be having a craft afternoon making some lovely art work for our Summer fair stall on Friday. 

Please note- Year 2 children moving into year 3 will only need PE kits on Tuesday. 

Year 1 children moving into year 2 will need PE kits Thursday only. 

Maths

Year 1 - We will be starting a new topic of measure - focusing on heavier and lighter

Year 2 - Ouse - We will be  continuing to revisit multiplication and division.

Year 2 - Wharfe - We will be starting our new topic of mass, capacity and volume.

Homework

3 x reading - we ask your child to read three times a week at home and record this in your reading record. 

We also encourage your child to 'read for pleasure' at home. This can come in the form of story books, chapter books, information texts, magazines, ebooks. Please add any additional reading to your child's reading record as we love seeing the variety of texts your child is accessing out of school.
