Team FOSS (year 4)

Good afternoon,

LKS2 has had another great week. In History, we enjoyed researching about how the Maya advanced their civilisation. We finished writing our first draft of our ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’ narratives. We absolutely loved watching the Peter Pan performance on Monday morning, a huge well done to everyone involved! 

Next week:

Transition is Monday and Tuesday and the children will need to enter and leave school through their new classrooms. Team Foss will not have PE on Tuesday due to transition. 

English - Next week we will be editing and publishing our narratives.

Maths Year 3 - We will be starting working on fractions greater than one.
Maths Year 4 - We will be focusing on improper fractions and converting these into mixed numbers. 

PE Year 3 - This week York Knights are coming in for PE on Wednesday. Please can Year 3 come in PE kits on Wednesday.

PE Year 4 - Year 4 have PE on Friday and need to come in their PE kits. 

PSHE Year 3 -  We are summarising our learning from this half term. 

PSHE Year 4 - We are focusing on knowing that personal hygiene is important during puberty and as an adult.

Homework has been set today and is due in next Friday. 

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. 

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.

If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
