Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

We have had a busy week with two school trips - something the children have loved.. The children were brilliant and enjoyed immersing themselves in different cultures. The children have also participated in sports day and showed how incredible sportsmen/women they are.

Tuesday 25th June - School trip for an experience day at Selby High

Friday 28th June - Teacher Training Day

Coming up next week: 

The children have an amazing opportunity to watch some of their peers in the production of Peter Pan on Monday morning. 

English: The children will be starting to look at a new genre of a non-chronological report.

Maths: The children will be learning how to multiply and divide a whole number by a unit fraction.

Curriculum: Next week Team calder will be learning whether everyone during the Victorian times agreed with the way of work. 

RE: We will be learning about Hindu mandir and some traditions that Hindus have.

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
