Team HUMBER (year 6)

Good afternoon, 

Team Humber have been very busy writing their stories about Theseus and the Minotaur. They have done an amazing job and I can’t wait to see their published pieces! 

Thursday will be our Art Day where we will be planning and producing a piece of artwork in the style of Banksy and based on the Olympic Games.

English: We will be starting a persuasive writing based on visiting sites in Ancient Greece.

Maths: We will be learning about ratio. 

Curriculum: Children will be finding out whether daily life in ancient Greece was similar to modern day.

PSHE: We will be looking at what the appropriate words are to use when discussing difference, focussing on visual impairment 

P.E is on Tuesday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).  

Homework will be set this week.

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
