Dear Families
Some of our children from Years 3 and 4 had a great afternoon at a football event hosted by Selby College this week. The children played some fantastic football, showing great teamwork and skill on the pitch. We're so proud to announce that they made it all the way to the final, finishing as runners-up! A huge well done to every player for their hard work and for representing our school with such commitment and excellent sportsmanship.
I would like to remind all parents of Y6 children that the application window for places to secondary school has now opened. Applications need to be made through the North Yorkshire Council Admissions website and will close on 31st October. If any parent would like support with this please do come and speak to us.
Have a lovely weekend, with very best wishes
Mrs Winter

Please can we ask that your child does not ride their bikes or scooters on the school grounds.
Children are not play on the wooden trim trail before and after school.
Children are not play football on the field and playground before or after school.
As the school continues to grow the playground is getting busier and busier and it is important we keep everyone safe.
We would also like to encourage parents and children to not cross roads where visibility is reduced to ensure that roads are clear before crossing.

What's Cooking?
I have been working with children from Team Humber and Team Loxley this week. In preparation of our annual celebration of languages and culture day, we have been making Spanish Magdalenas. Magdalenas are light Spanish lemon and olive oil muffins. The children learnt about their ingredients and some children were particularly interested in the lemons so they had fun cutting them up and enjoyed learning about the zest, peel and juice! All children demonstrated that they can work efficiently and safely. The children took their bakes home so I hope they shared them with you!
Well done to both Team Humber and Team Loxley, your Magdalenas were amazing! I will continue to work with Team Loxley and Team Calder next week. They will also be making Magdalenas and learning all about these delicious muffins.
