Good afternoon,
This week, KS1 have worked extremely hard and produced some brilliant independent writing linked to our book 'Toby and the Great Fire of London.'
REMINDERS:
Our PE days are Monday and Thursday.
Book bags to be returned on a Friday for book change.
If your child has signed up for craft club, this takes place after school every Wednesday and Lego club is on a Monday.
Our topic this half term is 'The Great Fire of London.' The children will be looking at what jobs did people had at the time of the Great Fire. Ahead of our DT day where we will be recreating Pudding Lane, please bring a cardboard box into school by Wednesday 24th September.
In Maths, Year 1 are focusing on counting in tens.
In year 2 , next week we are continuing to recap our number fact knowledge and quick recall within 10.
In Writing, we are starting to look at information texts. This work will build up to the children writing information texts about the Great Fire of London and firefighters.
HOMEWORK:
Your children will bring home their reading books on Friday. We ask that you read with your child 3x a week and write in their reading records each time you read.
The children who have read 3x, will be giving a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a prize.
We know reading is essential for your child/ren and we thank your support with this.
Any questions, please come and ask us.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
Team KS1
