STAYNOR HALL ACADEMY NEWSLETTER

Dear Families
It's been wonderful to have the children back in school this week and to hear the classrooms full of buzz and to see the children playing in the Autumn sunshine.
We are so proud of all of our new children who are started with us this week. Children in reception have settled so well and I know Miss Slinn and Mrs Murray are enjoying getting to know the children and building strong relationships with them. In the coming weeks we will be working with our Year 6 children and allocating them a buddy in reception, this is something the older children in school love to do!
This week the children in Year 6 have had a wonderful few days on residential at Low Mill. They have been scavenging in the woods, abseiling down bridges and enjoying time together in the games room. Residential is a wonderful opportunity for children to grow their comfort zone and create memories of new experiences that they will hold with them for a lifetime. We are proud of each and everyone of them for embracing the opportunities and constantly demonstrating our Staynor Hall values, well done Team Humber!
As your child settles into their new class, if you have any questions or concerns please do speak to your child's teacher or organise a meeting with them via the school office. If you have a safeguarding concern please speak to a member of the safeguarding team, these staff are Mrs Winter, Mrs Cowling and Mrs Steunou.
Have a lovely weekend, with very best wishes
Mrs Winter
If you have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child in school please contact myself,
Mrs Cowling or Ms Steunou who are the safeguarding leads.
Please can we ask that your child does not ride their bikes or scooters on the school grounds.
Children are not play on the wooden trim trail before and after school.
Children are not play football on the field and playground before or after school.
As the school continues to grow the playground is getting busier and busier and it is important we keep everyone safe.
We would also like to encourage parents and children to not cross roads where visibility is reduced to ensure that roads are clear before crossing.

What's Cooking?
I have been working with some children from Team Humber this week. We have made scones, flapjack, pizza and banana bread. The children enjoyed donating the scones and flapjack to Sleepsafe in Selby and they were very grateful. The banana bread will be shared with the rest of Team Humber on Monday. Well done to all of you this week, you have worked really hard.
I will continue to work with Team Humber next week.
