Team calder & Loxley (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

Teams Loxley and Calder have both had a fantastic start to the new school year and have really impressed us with their attitude to learning.

Maths and spelling homework will be set next week.

Next week:

English: We will be writing a setting description based on the Egyptian pyramids.

Maths: We will be starting our learning on decimals.

Curriculum: We will be starting our new topic on ‘Were they really human?’ where we will be finding out about ancient Egypt.

PSHE: We will be identifying the positive things in our lives, identifying worries, and how we could overcome them. 

Science: We will be starting our new topic on light and looking at how light travels.

P.E is now every Tuesday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).  

If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
