Reception (Nidd & Swale)

Good afternoon, 

Team Swale and Team Nidd have had another super week. We loved having our grown ups come into the classroom to see our learning. Next week we will be doing lots of rehearsals for our Nativity next week, ready to our dress rehearsal to KS1 on Friday! It is also Christmas Dinner day next Thursday (5th) and the children can come into school in a Christmas jumper on this day. 

This is what we will be looking at next week in English and Maths. The children will also continue to do daily phonics lessons and guided reading.

English - In English next week we will be reading the story of the Nativity. We will then be ordering the story and having a go at writing captions for each part of the story. 

Maths - We will be looking at patterns in maths next week. We will be identifying repeating and non-repeating patterns as well as having a go at continuing a pattern that is given to us. 

There will be no PE between now and Christmas due to Nativity rehearsals. PE will continue to be on a Monday every week from January. 

Please send your child with their book bag on Friday as they will be bringing home a guided reading book, along with a picture book for them to read at home with you. The children will have all read the book three times with an adult in school so they will be eager to share it with you at home. We politely ask that these books are returned to school on the following Friday.
