3.1.6 Complications

Complication occurrence

If a complication has occurred it must be logged in Socrates in Figure 3.1.6.a below.

• As a minimum the occurrence (Yes/No) and date must be noted.
• Specific information that is collected in Genie and surgeon notes does not need to be recorded in Socrates.
• If a complication results in a re-operation or additional procedure it is logged in Figure 3.1.6.b below.
• If a complication results in a revision then the treatment record must be failed and a new one created (see 3.1.2 Cohort identification)
