Course Description:

I’d like to welcome you and your child to Digital Communications Class. This is a semester long (18 week) course with a mixture of 7th and 8th grade students. This course will explore facets of communicating with various types of digital media. We will explore graphic design, photography, photo editing, videography, video editing, website design and digital coding.

Microsoft Publisher, Windows Movie Maker, and Photoscape will be used, as well as various other online software programs. The goal of this course is to get an in-depth and hands on understanding of communicating in a digital world. During the semester students will create a portfolio of work demonstrating their understanding of the course. A pre-test will also be given at the beginning of the quarter to allow for more concise lesson planning. This pre-test will only count as a participation grade.

The students will be completing in class projects (group and individual), homework, and test/quizzes. Rubrics, assignment due dates, test dates, and description of each project and assignment will be posted on our google classroom site.
