Hello! My name is Abigail Carr and I am an Autistic Support teacher at Wescosville Elementary, where I create a structured, nurturing, and engaging learning environment tailored to meet the unique needs of my students. I provide specialized instruction that supports communication, social skills, sensory integration, and academic growth while collaborating closely with general education teachers to ensure each child receives the individualized support they need to succeed.
I began my teaching journey in 2024 after graduating from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education PreK-12. My passion for the field stems from growing up with my younger brother, who was diagnosed with autism at age three. Witnessing his journey firsthand ignited my dedication to supporting and advocating for students with diverse needs. I continue to learn from each child I teach, embracing every opportunity to foster growth and independence.
Beyond the classroom, I am committed to giving back to my community through volunteer work, including supporting local animal shelters.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy dancing, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
