"Only the best is good enough for a child" -Zoltan Kodály
About Mrs. Lewis:
Teaching music is, without a doubt, my dream job, and I am so lucky to be a part of the Wescosville and Alburtis families. I graduated from Susquehanna University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (vocal concentration). I went on to earn a Master's degree in Kodály Music Education from the American Kodály Institute at Loyola University in Baltimore, and I am the past-president of the Kodály Educators of Eastern Pennsylania. I also recently earned my National Board Certification.
I hold Level 1 certification in Music Learning Theory from Temple University, and I am a contributing author for the practical resource guide to "Teaching Music to Students with Special Needs: A Label-Free Approach." I also currently serve on the faculty of the Kodály Teacher Institute at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.
I live in Lansdale, PA with my husband, our daughters, and our dog. In my free time, I love to exercise, read, watch TV, and spend time with my family.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at alewis@eastpennsd.org with any questions, or to get more acquainted!
In particular, I would love to hear from you if you have songs that you sing with your children at home that you would be willing to share with me. I am always seeking to expand my song collection to include the musical culture of all of my students.
