In this unit, students will learn how to be a smart consumer. Students will be introduced to their rights as consumers and practice applying them to real life situations. They will also weigh the pros and cons of working while a teenager and explore the importance of budgeting to keep track of earnings and spending.

If you love to bake and tweak recipes to make them perfect this is the course for you! In this unit, students will experiment with the most common baking ingredients as they learn the role each one plays in the baking process. Why do we add flour? What happens if we forget to add eggs? These are just some of the questions that will be answered through trial and error as students prepare various baked goods.

In this unit, students will put all the sewing skills they have learned in 6th and 7th grade to work as they create a practical sewing project-a zippered duffel bag.
