Band Information

Welcome to Elementary Band!

The band program is for 4th & 5th grade students who have no prior playing experience on a wind or percussion instrument. Students receive one year of lessons, learning the basic of playing an instrument. After completing a full year of lessons, students are eligible to participate in district band.

The East Penn Elementary (5th Grade) District Band is made up of second year students with one or more years of playing experience. We rehearse every Wednesday at Shoemaker Elementary.

District band provides an introductory ensemble experience for most students, during which they learn ensemble playing skills, how to follow a conductor, basic musicianship skills and development of their individual playing skills. The culmination of this experience is a spring concert that combines all the skills learned throughout the year and showcases them.
