Welcome to December! We hope everyone had an enjoyable winter break. Although we are temporarily in a remote learning environment, we are still available to meet with you. As a reminder, The best way to contact Mrs. Cignarella or Dr. Pinho is via email.
This month, we are focusing on organization and time management. Using your time mindfully is always important, but is especially important during remote or hybrid learning, when students have to create their own structure at home to help themselves learn rather than relying on the structure provided in a classroom. On top of using time management to better learn and complete classwork, these skills can help students balance other ways they spend their time including clubs, sports, paid work, relaxing, or taking care of family members. Here are a few tips and strategies to help manage your time.
One overarching tip is do work and take breaks mindfully. When you sit down to do work but end up scrolling through social media for 20 minutes, you aren't really working or taking a break. If you're going to take a break, make the active mental choice to take a break from your work, and you'll come back feeling more refreshed.
Prioritization is essential to boost productivity. You need to be able to decide what will I do and in what order should I be doing it. Here are some resources to consider to help you prioritize your tasks.
