Student Intern Teacher Program
Student Intern Teacher Program
The Student Intern Teacher (SIT) Program is an opportunity for Emmaus High School students to serve as assistant teachers in classrooms throughout the East Penn School District. Students apply to SIT under the high school’s Field Study Program.
The SIT program is open to 11th and 12th grade students who have expressed an interest in pursuing a career the field of Education. Student interns work alongside classroom teachers in a capacity similar to that of a college student teacher. Our EPSD teachers serve as voluntary cooperating/mentor teachers and offer a behind the scenes look at the world of teaching.
The SIT is a unique opportunity for Emmaus HS students to take on leadership roles, build meaningful working relationships with teachers and students alike, obtain valuable career skills and insight, and hopefully begin their journey into a career in Education.
