PARKING OF VEHICLES

1. Parking is a Senior Privilege. Students should not plan work or activities around having this privilege, as it is not a guaranteed privilege.  

Earning the Privilege: Students need to be in good standing during Marking Period 4 of Junior year to earn the privilege for MP1 of Senior year. Good standing includes the following:  

• All discipline from the previous school year needs to be served. 

• Students cannot have 5 or more unexcused absences or unexcused lates during Marking Period 4.

• Students cannot have 20 or more total absences for the school year.

• Students cannot have a level 3 or higher disciplinary infraction.

• All student debts must be resolved.
  
  

If a student had any of these infractions during Marking Period 4, they will not earn a parking permit for Marking Period 1.

• The Senior Parking Application Link will go live on Schoology in July. Submission is on a first-come, first-served basis and will only be awarded based on good standing/privilege approval. Completion of this application does not guarantee the awarding of a senior parking permit. If students complete the application but are not eligible for the privilege, they will not receive a permit for MP1. 

• Administration will review data at the end of each marking period to consider reinstatement/earning of the privilege. The reinstatement of the privilege is based on a student's good standing in that marking period (Grades, Discipline, and Attendance) and space availability. Spaces may not be available, as it is first-come, first-served for those with the privilege.

Maintaining the Privilege: Students need to remain in good standing each marking period to maintain their parking privilege. This will be reviewed each marking period– permits will be revoked if a student does not maintain good standing.  Good standing includes the following:  

• All discipline assigned within the marking period must be served by the end of the marking period. 

• Students cannot have 5 or more unexcused absences or unexcused lates in the marking period.

• Students cannot have 20 or more total absences for the school year.

• Students cannot have a level 3 or higher disciplinary infraction.

• All student debts must be resolved.

Parking permits will be revoked for the marking period if students do not maintain good standing. Administration will review data at the end of the next marking period to consider reinstatement of the privilege. Renstatement of the privilege is based on space availability. 

2. Parking Permits are non-transferrable. Only Senior students who have a parking permit may park their vehicles in the high school parking lots during school in their assigned numbered space. All other spaces are reserved for the administration, faculty, or visitors. Junior, Sophomore, and Freshmen students are not eligible for parking permits. Sharing of parking permits or spaces will result in the termination of both students’ privileges (or future privileges if they are underclassmen). 

3. Lost Parking Permits will result in a $10 fee. Students will be added to the  debt list. Students will not be permitted to park in their spot or eligible for reinstatement of the parking privilege if this debt is not paid. 

4. The school district cannot assume any liability for vehicles parked on school property. Failure to obey the regulations will result in the withdrawal of parking privileges, police ticketing, towing, and additional disciplinary actions as prescribed in the Emmaus High School Discipline Code and Parking Permit agreement. Only properly registered vehicles may park on school property in their assigned spaces.

Arriving at School - What time and where?

At the start of the school day, students must enter through the HIVE or Auditorium doors.   Doors open at 6:55 AM and close at 7:21 AM.   Classes begin at 7:23 AM.   Students who arrive after 7:21 AM must enter through the main office to receive a tardy slip and entrance to the building.
