What is SEL?
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) helps students build self-awareness, manage emotions, and develop positive relationships that support success in school and beyond. At EOCHS, SEL is embedded into classroom instruction, counseling programs, and schoolwide activities to create a safe and supportive environment. Our counseling team also provides resources and strategies to help students strengthen their well-being, decision-making, and resilience.
Why SEL Matters for High Schoolers:
High school is a time of big transitions, new responsibilities, and important decisions. SEL equips students with the tools to manage stress, build healthy relationships, and make responsible choices—skills that support both academic success and personal growth. By fostering resilience and confidence, SEL helps prepare students for college, careers, and life beyond graduation.
