One hundred twenty (120) credits are required for graduation from East Orange Campus High School
Students are encouraged to study 2 years of World Languages for admission to college, as most colleges require a minimum of 2 consecutive years of study
Students are encouraged to study 4 years of Math & Science for admission to college, as most colleges require a minimum of 4 consecutive years of study
A course meeting for a full year earns 5 credits and one that meets for a half year earns 2.5 credits
Transfer students must meet all state and local requirements in order to receive an East Orange Campus High School diploma.
40 Hours of Community Service
Students must complete a minimum of 10 hours of Community Service per School Year
FAFSA APPLICATION/WAIVER
Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, the State of New Jersey now requires all graduating seniors to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or submit a Waiver in order to receive their high school diploma.
This requirement is mandated by New Jersey Statute N.J.S.A. 18A:7C-7, which went into effect in December 2024.
Who Needs to Complete This Requirement?
All 12th-grade students must either:
1. Complete the FAFSA application OR
2. Submit the New Jersey Financial Aid Application Graduation Requirement Waiver if they will not be attending college or a trade school, or if they qualify for an exemption
How to Submit the FAFSA or Waiver
• The FAFSA application can be completed online at www.studentaid.gov
• Students who wish to opt out of completing the FAFSA must submit the New Jersey Financial Aid Application Graduation Requirement Waiver. This waiver can be picked up from the School Counselor’s office or downloaded online.
Deadline
All students must submit either the FAFSA completion confirmation or the waiver to their School Counselor by June of their graduation year in order to meet the graduation requirement.
