What is the FAFSA?
The FAFSA is a free application that determines a student’s eligibility for federal and state financial aid, including grants, scholarships, and loans, for two-year and four-year colleges, universities, and trade schools. Even if a student does not plan to apply for financial aid, completing the FAFSA is highly encouraged, as many institutions use it to determine eligibility for additional funding opportunities.
In order to receive financial aid, (or even be considered for financial aid), you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible on or after October 1st of your senior year.
