The Easton Area School District is committed to ensuring internet safety to the greatest extent possible. To this end, we have a district-wide filter in place as a safety precaution, in compliance with CIPA regulations and our district policies. Students are encouraged to use common sense and good judgment when accessing materials online. Internet Safety is taught in our elementary schools by the school librarians. Topics covered include cyber bullying, being safe by not including personal information or posting pictures, digital footprints, social media, creating appropriate passwords, and much more.
COPPA is the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which requires that websites and app providers obtain verifiable parental consent for children under the age of 13. The Easton Area School District is committed to the safety of our students, therefore, we review and vet websites and apps prior to including them on this list. By signing our AUP form once per level, you are providing verifiable parent consent for these and other less-frequently-used apps and websites. Please know that this page is updated frequently with new apps and websites. We encourage you to visit each website and review the privacy policy for how student data is used. Another excellent resource for examining the privacy policies of applications is Common Sense Media. Please be sure to check regularly for updates. An asterisk (*) indicates that the privacy policy may not directly cover children under 13 however we feel the educational value of this app, when used under direct teacher supervision, is worthwhile. Please direct any questions you may have to mcentirea@eastonsd.org.
