We are all learners... students and staff alike. Our elementary teachers are learning how to use iPads in their classrooms to differentiate lessons and to inspire creativity. We are fortunate to have several "Techsperts" in each of our seven elementary schools who volunteer their time and expertise to help everyone learn and grow. Student learning is enhanced as teachers implement new technologies into their classrooms every day. From the beginning planning stages to the final presentations, technology rich projects motivate students to want to learn, take initiative, and be proud of their accomplishments. Technology can increase students' opportunities for collaboration, communication and creativity. Likewise, when teachers see the change in their students’ interest level and productivity, they begin to understand why this is a necessary change in our schools and become motivated to integrate into more and more of their lessons.
Staff and students in our district are provided with GSuite accounts from Google. Students in grades 6-12 are provided with the full GSuite of apps, however in K-5 students do not have access to district gmail. They use their GSuite accounts for Google Drive storage, Google Classroom, Google Slides, and more.
Our elementary teachers are known for sharing! Our teachers love to share new things they've learned with other staff members in their schools. Here, Mrs. Broderick is sharing how she uses Class Dojo with some Tracy staffers!
Students learn best when they can get up and move and interact with each other. iPads make it extra fun when students can personalize their work... say cheese!
CLEVER makes learning easy for our students at the elementary level by providing a portal where students can sign in and have access to all of the accounts they use during the day. Students in K-3 can sign in with a badge, saving time so that they can spend more time learning. Students in grades 4 and 5 sign into Clever with their district Google accounts, so they can begin the process of learning their usernames and passwords. For more information on how to sign into Clever at home, see below.
There is an assortment of apps that your child can access simply by signing into the Clever Portal. Several of those apps that require a login and password include First In Math, McGraw Hill and Seesaw... which you can access by a simple click or tap, no signing in needed, thanks to Clever!
