To ensure that we create an engaging and dynamic event for students, Junior Achievement of Eastern NC is inviting up to 75 8th grade students from each WCPSS middle school to attend our second annual in-person JA Inspire Career Exploration Fair. In the future, we look forward to welcoming even more 8th graders and exhibitors to explore career connections through JA Inspire!
Schedules will be announced at a later date.
Yes, schools will rank their arrival time preferences on the registration page.
Check with your school’s technology department to be sure there are no firewalls for students and teachers to be able to access the curriculum links which include videos from YouTube and Vimeo. Make sure the students are able to access these sites on their school-issued computers before starting the curriculum.
We recommend ensuring students will have access to the internet at home if they are remote learning or completing the sessions as homework. Be sure that your school will have the bandwidth support for the students to access the curriculum links in school. You may want to allow students to wear headphones when they access the video links.
Junior Achievement provides an engaging and enriching JA Inspire Entry curriculum for middle school students. The entire curriculum can be accessed digitally and facilitated by teachers, and many of the assignments can be 100% student self-guided.
All of the activities are downloadable, fillable PDFs that teachers can upload to a JA Inspire 2025 Google Drive folder. However, you are are welcome to print and have students submit paper copies of the assignments.
The curriculum includes videos and links to outside resources, including JA’s newly constructed JA Connect and JA Here to Career sites. Using these resources, students will take a skills and interest inventory that will provide them with information regarding careers and education to help them throughout the rest of the JA Inspire sessions.
There are 5 sessions, as well as a pre-test, that students complete prior to attending the JA Inspire career fair. Following the event, students should complete their reflection activity and a post-test.
The lessons can be teacher-led. Teachers will be provided with access to the JA Inspire curriculum after completing the registration process. The curriculum is digital with downloadable PDFs and links to assessments. JA will offer virtual JA Inspire training sessions to schools and teachers in September and October 2025.
If you are unable to access the curriculum, please contact Patience Wells, Programs Coordinator, at patience@jaoenc.org or 919-821-2100 ext. 1003.

The activities have been developed for the students to complete independently. However, teachers should provide support for students as needed.
Yes, that is the expectation. You will be provided with instructions on which part of the curriculum students need to return and when it needs to be submitted.
There will be further instructions on-site at our welcome areas. Experienced JAENC staff and volunteers will be on site to assist educators and students at the JA Inspire Career Exploration Fair.
JA staff will provide training for educators to prepare them for using the JA Inspire Entry curriculum and attending the JA Inspire event.
