About Our Program

The Hiland Band Program is a comprehensive program that seeks to provide students with valuable instrumental skills and memorable experiences that students can carry with them beyond graduation.  

The Hiland Band Program offers the following credited ensembles:

Additionally, 8th-12th grade students can join the Marching Band during our fall parade and show season.  The marching band's color guard is open to all students, including non-band members.

Director:

Zachary Rearick

Zachary is in his first year of teaching in East Holmes Local Schools.  He is a 2021 graduate of Malone University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and an Honors Program minor.  He began his career at Lake Center Christian School in Hartville, Ohio, where he served as the Band Director for 2 years.  He taught 5th-12th Grade Band as well as middle school Music Appreciation and high school Handbell Choir.  Currently, Zachary teaches 5th-12th Grade Band at Hiland HS/MS, Berlin Elementary, Walnut Creek Elementary, and Winesburg Elementary, and he serves as Hiland High School's NHS Chapter Adviser.
