To suggest a skill as a teacher:
Sign in to your teacher account.
From Learning, select a subject and grade level, topic, or skill plan.
When you find a skill you'd like to highlight, click on the star icon to suggest it to all of your students.
If you'd like to suggest the skill to specific students, hover over the star to open the drop-down menu.
From the star drop-down menu, you can select your entire roster, specific classes, or individual students:
For groups, click on the star next to the class name or All students for your entire roster.
For individual students, click on the group name in the drop-down menu, and then click on the star next to each student you'd like to include.
To remove a skill suggestion for a student or group, just click on the star in the drop-down menu again. To remove a skill suggestion completely, click on the star next to the skill; the star will be gray when it is no longer suggested to anyone. A skill with a yellow star indicates the skill is suggested to all students on your roster. A skill with a partially filled-in star indicates the skill is suggested to at least one of your students.
Students will see a yellow star next to any skill that you have suggested to them. They also can go to the top of their Recommendations wall to see a list of all the skills you have starred for them!
IXL’s Learning Hub provides everything you need to support students at home, including parent videos, skill plans, implementation guides, and other essentials!
IXL’s Real-Time Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment tool that provides an accurate, up-to-the-minute portrait of each and every student. By answering questions in the Real-Time Diagnostic, students can pinpoint their current levels of knowledge in math and language arts (overall and in specific strands), plus their reading level.
As the Real-Time Diagnostic gathers insights, students receive personalized recommendations that help them figure out what actions to take for growth. This engaging diagnostic empowers students to have a more active role in their ongoing learning journey, and teachers can also use this up-to-date snapshot of their students’ understanding to challenge them at just the right level.
