Eastern Howard School Corporation strives to promote and cultivate a culture of innovation and community engagement through purposeful technology integration, while preparing students for the 21st century.
At this site students, staff, and community members can learn more about the technology and resources available in our classrooms. We strive to keep technology transparent, purposeful, and meaningful. It is updated with tutorials and important information as new technologies are incorporated into the classroom and community.
Eastern uses two learning management systems depending upon the grade level of each student. Grades K-1 utilize SeeSaw and all other grades utilize Canvas as their main learning management tool. Both of these tools can be used for paperless classrooms. Logins and classes for Canvas are maintained by Eastern Tech. Seesaw logins and classes are maintained by each classroom teacher.
If you have other questions that the videos below do not address or just generally want to speak to a live human being about what you want to do with Canvas, please email michael.berg@eastern.k12.in.us.
I am not an expert on SeeSaw by any means, but the lovely people over at the company are. Linked below are some videos you may find helpful. If you have other questions please email michael.berg@eastern.k12.in.us and I will be happy to find the answers you seek.
Seesaw for Schools Quick Start
Implementing Seesaw in the Classroom
You can find more advanced videos and training directly on the Seesaw site right here.
Eastern utilizes Skyward for a number of activities including grades, parent communication, attendance, and human resources. Documentation on the use of differnt areas of the system can be accessed below.
Eastern uses Skyward for official communications from our SIS to parents, however during the 2020 pandemic we also standardized the use of Bloomz as a communication tool for parent/teacher communications. Bloomz is a robust app that allows parents to sign up and enroll in your groups so you can post information, images, and even schedule parent/teacher conferences.
