Individuals who identify as Arab are those from Arabic speaking cultures and heritages or Arabic speaking countries. While there is no specific religion, Islam has heavily influenced Arabic cultures as many. Being Arab is not an ethnicity but a historic linguistic culture meaning it ranges in diverse ethnicities, races, and religions. Additionally, some may be of Arabic descent but not identity as Arab themselves.

Arabic is one of the oldest languages to exist and is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. The language dates back to the 4th century and originates from the Arabian Peninsula. The Holy Quran was revealed to the prophet Muhammad in Arabic, making it one of the most predominate languages in Islam religion.
Arabic is a semitic language meaning it is from the Afro- Asiatic language family. Other languages in this branch are Amharic, Tigrinya, Aramaic, and Hebrew. These languages have ancient history and have helped develop language and dialect in the Middle East.
