ABOUT

East Bronx Academy for the Future, 6th - 12th grade secondary school located in the South Bronx of New York City. 

East Bronx Academy began in 2004 on the Truman High school campus and was partnered with the West Bronx Academy for the Future. 

In 2005, the school moved to into its own building on Southern Blvd, where it continues to be a pillar for the surrounding community.  In 2016, East Bronx Academy became a Phipps Neighborhood Community School.

Our school values center on REDEMPTION & Restoration, LOVE meaning pushing and supporting one another to be our best selves, and COMMUNITY and Collaboration toward shared goals. These values are reflected in our priorities this year which are: strengthening our culture of Restorative Practices & Discipline, creating a school-wide Advisory program to support students toward social emotional and academic mastery and creating a Reading Revolution in our school so that all of us are reaching for the best possible future.

Phipps Neighborhoods Community Schools extend beyond school walls by working with community partners to impact student achievement.

The Community School model is a strategy for organizing the resources of a community around student success. Community School students benefit from coordinated services and extended hours in an environment where families and school partners work together to support students’ educational success, build stronger families and improve communities. The main components of a community school are:
