Narrative Writing

In our English Lessons, we have been writing our own portal story based on the classic children's fiction book 'Alice in Wonderland'. At the start of our stories, our main character is feeling bored and we wanted to convey that to our reader by describing our character's body language and actions. To help our descriptions, we got in to character and acted being bored. We observed each other in role and were able to come up with lots of ideas for our writing.

Our Visitors Were a Real HOOT!

As part our Science Week, we had a really exciting assembly all about owls. Not only were we able to learn lots of interesting facts but also we were also able to see real-life owls fly across the hall and swoop silently above our heads. It was very exciting! Some children (including Lavender's very own Lin) even had the chance to get act as a perch for the owls to launch off and land on. Later on, everyone was able to have their picture taken with one of the owls if they wanted to. Inspired by the assembly, Olachi made her own amazing owl using recycled paper and earned a prize in the Science competition - well done Olachi!

DT - Making Mazes

This was a challenge we couldn't get out of! We used paper straws to create our own mini maze games. It was challenging, at times, to get the measurements perfect but we had lots of fun improving our designs.
