Students in Beginning Orchestra will need to rent an instrument and purchase a few essential items. All other materials are covered by the orchestra class fee.
Instrument Rental
Rent from a local vendor. Violin/viola must include case, bow, and rosin. Cello/bass must be sized for home use.
Shoulder Rest (Violin/Viola only)
A properly fitted rest helps with posture and comfort. (Recommended: Kun, Everest)
Rock Stop / Endpin Anchor (Cello/Bass only)
Keeps the instrument stable while playing. (Recommended: Sure-Stop, Xeros)
Core Theory Book 1
For your student’s instrument (Violin, Viola, Cello, or Bass). Available at local music shops or online. All other materials privded through your class fee.
Students enrolled in Concert, Camerata, and Sinfonia Orchestras will receive all music and classroom materials through their orchestra class fee—no need to purchase sheet music or practice folders separately.
Purchase a fresh cake of rosin
Consider replacing worn strings
Upgrade to a new bow if needed
Check for appropriate instrument sizing and upgrade if the student has outgrown their current one
All Beginning Orchestra students will receive a black WRMS Orchestra polo shirt, which is included in their class fee. This shirt will serve as the top half of their official performance uniform.
Long black dress pants (no jeans, leggings, or athletic wear)
Black dress shoes (closed-toe, no sneakers)
This uniform helps present a polished, professional appearance during performances, while allowing students to feel like part of the team. Please ensure that pants and shoes are clean, comfortable, and performance-ready.
Students in Concert Orchestra will continue with a similar uniform style as Beginning Orchestra.
Green WRMS Orchestra polo (last year’s uniform shirt)
Students who are new to Concert Orchestra (typically 6th graders) will receive a black WRMS Orchestra polo in the updated style, included with their class fee.
Long black dress pants (no jeans, leggings, or athletic wear)
Black dress shoes (closed-toe, no sneakers)
Students in Camerata Orchestra will wear the Black Formal Dress Uniform from last year. This attire reflects the elevated level of the ensemble and helps maintain a polished and unified appearance on stage.
Girls: Long black formal concert dress from last year. For new to this ensemble students we have some gently used ones available.
Girls/Boys: Black dress shirt, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and Eanes Orchestra Tie.
Students in Camerata wearing Pants/Dress Shirt will be issued a custom Eanes Orchestra Tie—part of a class set.
Ties will be checked out at the start of the year
Must be returned after the Spring Orchestra Concert
No purchase necessary—just wear it with pride and return it with care!
Students in Sinfonia Orchestra will wear the Black Formal Dress Uniform from last year as well. This ensemble represents a high level of musicianship, and the uniform reflects the professionalism and unity we value on stage.
Girls: Long black formal concert dress. Returning students should wear their dress from last year as there is no need to purcase anything new.
Boys/Girls: Black dress shirt, Black dress pants, Black dress shoes and the Eanes Orchestra Tie
Students wearing pants/dress shirts will be issued a custom Eanes Orchestra tie as part of a class set:
