Robotics i
4th Period, 5th and 8th Periods
In Robotics I, students will transfer academic skills to component designs in a project-based environment through implementation of the design process. Students will build prototypes or use simulation software to test their designs. Additionally, students will explore career opportunities, employer expectations, and educational needs in the robotic and automation industry. Class will focus on FIRST Robotics Contests designs and strategies. This class is a continuation of skills development for engineering through competitive robotics contests.
This is an extracurricular course where students work on teams to compete in FIRST Robotics contest (FTC , FRC or AVR Drone contest).
Sophomores who will be competing in FRC for the first time will be placed with other FRC 2689 Team Alpha students in the fourth and fifth period classes.
Sophomores who are competing on FRC 2687 Team Apprentice students are required to be enrolled in the seventh period classes to participate on the team.
