Robotics I - FIRST Focus
(FRC & FTC) 

In Robotics I, students will transfer academic skills to component designs in a project-based environment through implementation of the design process. Students will build prototypes or use simulation software to test their designs. Additionally, students will explore career opportunities, employer expectations, and educational needs in the robotic and automation industry.  Class will focus on FIRST Robotics Contests designs and strategies.  This class is a continuation of skills development for engineering through competitive robotics contests. 

This is an extracurricular course where students work on teams to compete in FIRST Robotics contest (FTC , FRC or AVR Drone contest). 

Sophomores who are competing on FRC 2687 Team Apprentice students are required to be enrolled in either the second or eighth period classes to participate on the team.  Returning Juniors are encouraged to be in this class period but not required.  

AVR students will be in the 8th period section along with the AVR Drone team.
