Course Overview
This course is designed for students who are interested in developing their craft of photography. Students will learn and expand on camera usage, both 35mm film and DSLRs, use Adobe photo editing software and hone darkroom skills. The elements and principles of fine art, student knowledge and practical manipulation of the principles of art will be expanded. This is a project-based course designed to take the student through all phases of the creative process, from beginning to end. Art history and art appreciation will be taught on more traditional art topics and current trends.

Required Class Materials
There is a $30.00 expendable materials cost for Art 2 students. This covers extra supplies not included in the art budget allotment for each student. This way we can ensure that everyone has the right products without the burden of sending you shopping. Please make checks payable to the Westlake High School Art Department; cash is also accepted. Payment will be made on-line in skyward or to Judith Kilmer in the front office.
