Dear WHS Students, Parents, & Families:
For those of you that I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, I would like to briefly introduce myself so that you will not be wondering who the strange individual is molding the malleable minds of your precious children. "Mwah, haa, haa, haa!" (Insert evil laugh for comic effect here.)
I graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York with a B.F.A. in visual arts/photography and subsequently completed an M.F.A. in visual arts/photography at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. After holding various positions in art galleries, print publications, museums, and artist studios--as well as teaching art, photography, and creative writing in college, elementary/secondary schools, and summer camps--I decided that teaching was my greatest passion. Therefore, I went back to school and earned my M.A. in education at Ursuline College in Cleveland, Ohio.
I'm excited to have the opportunity to get to know your children. I revel in the contagious enthusiasm of young, inquisitive minds and hope to continue encouraging their overall creativity and development of skills.
All creative process is about experimentation as well as premeditation. As in any other discipline, in teaching the spontaneous moments of learning that occur every day can far exceed the rewards that the initial lesson plans anticipate.
This is a time to grow, learn, and most importantly enjoy!
Sincerely yours,
Ms. Moira H. Longino
