Course Overview
Kinesiology II is designed to dive deeper into the field and prepare students who are interested in achieving their Personal Trainer Certification. Students will learn in depth about the Psychology of Exercise, Modern State of Health and Fitness, Professional Development and Responsibility, Posture, Movement and Performance Assessments, Sports Nutrition, Exercise Metabolism and Bioenergetics, and Exercise Technique and Training Instruction such as Flexibility Training Concepts, Cardiorespiratory Training Concepts, Balance Training Concepts, Plyometric Training Concepts, Speed, Agility, and Quickness Training Concepts and Resistance Training Concepts. Students will have the opportunity to shadow Health Care Professionals such as Physical Therapists, Personal Trainers, and more. At the end of the year, students will sit for the Personal Trainer Board of Certification Examination.

Westlake High School utilizes the Google Classroom platform to share classroom resources, many assignments, and assessment preparation materials to students. WHS students will receive a classroom code to access these materials, submit assignments, and track any missing work.
