AP Art History
Course Overview
The AP Art History course explores such topics as the nature of art, its uses, its meanings, art making, and responses to art. Through investigation of diverse artistic traditions of cultures from prehistory to the present, the course fosters in-depth and holistic understanding of art from a global perspective. Students learn and apply skills of visual, contextual, and comparative analysis to engage with a variety of art forms, constructing understanding of individual works and interconnections of art-making processes and products throughout history.

Course Description: The AP Art History course explores such topics as the nature of art, its uses, its meanings, art making, and responses to art. Make-up Work: Please refer to the Student Handbook for school policies. It is always the student’s responsibility to arrange for make-up work when absent.
Classroom Management: Because of the amount and depth of material covered, close attention to the lesson is required. No game playing on iPads or other electronic devices is allowed except when authorized by the instructor.
Supplies Needed: You are invited to do your work electronically, in traditional format, or in a combination of the two. You are welcome to print out any handouts that you wish to have.
